Baby Beat

Last week Ryan and I heard the heart beat of our baby for the first time which was really amazing. It was 160 which is normal for 14 weeks but for those who believe it determines the gender, this week it is a girl. We will find out the true gender on January 4th.

V-Dubs in the Valley

This year Becket's hosted the "Dubs in the Valley" car show. There was a wide variety of different Volkswagons showcased from vintage to high-tech. My personal favorite was the VW buses.

4th of July 2009

4th of July cookout at Mimi's House
Tommy getting attacked by the kids
My cousins Leena and Eric
Chadd, Ryan and my cousin Matti
Cousins Tommy and Jonas
Friday fish fry at Jasper's
Aunt Mary and Mimi waiting for dinner
Little Tommy, cousin Matthew and Eric
King Solomon at Summerfest

This 4th of July brought family together from North Carolina, Arkansas, IL, NY, and North Dakota. My cousin Eric was back from Air Force training in AK. Jonas was visiting from New York where he is attending graduate school. It was a great weekend full of fun times and many laughs. I can't wait to see family together again for Tommy's wedding in October.

Plants, Trees and Rock!

Japanese Maple
Ryan spent over 2 hours digging a hole for the smoke bush tree today due to a big rock. We also planted some porcupine grass, beard tongue and jalapenos. We still have a few wine and rose bushes to plant along the side of the house. Next plan of action is a patio...hopefully before the 4th of July.

This time it is a Fur-cation

So Gannett has anounced that we are having another round of furloughs for the 2nd quarter. This time I am calling it a Fur-cation because Ryan and I are heading to Miami. Another positive is that I get to save my vacation days and enjoy time off down in South Beach. I just need to pre-tan so I don't burn-out, literally get so burnt that I am physically sick. Just turned another bad situation good.

New Dublin

Last weekend Ryan and I went to the New Dublin festival in New London, WI. There was a 2 hour parade, live music and Guinness. There was a really good irish rock band and the brewers wieners. I would definitely recommend this event and go again next year.

Pinnacle

Every year the Oshkosh Northwestern announces a Pinnacle Award Winner honoring the tops sales executive. This year the Pinnacle Award banquet was at El Azteca on Fat Tuesday. I received the Pinnacle Award for 2008 and Karen Gogolewski was the runner up. I will be attending the Gannett WI Pinnacle Ceremony in Green Bay in March. It is an exciting honor that I have work really hard to receive.
